By renting a Barefoot Farm chicken coop you are agreeing to the following:
-
The rental cost for the first month is $150.00. Each additional month of rental is $100.00. A minimum twelve-week rental agreement is required. The first 12 weeks' fee is due upon coop delivery and is non-refundable. Fees for additional months will be billed at the beginning of each 4-week period.
-
This fee schedule includes 1 portable chicken coop large enough to house 2-4 hens, 1 feeder, 1 waterer, bedding, enough feed and other necessary supplies for the rental duration, and care instructions. This also includes delivery and removal within Fayette County, KY. (An additional delivery fee will be charged for Central Kentucky locations outside Fayette Co.)
-
Two Barefoot Farm Laying Hens will be delivered with the coop for your enjoyment unless other arrangements are made in advance. These hens are the property of Barefoot Farm LLC and shall be returned at the conclusion of the rental agreement. The Coop Renter is responsible for the health and well-being of the hens assigned to them and shall be rewarded with eggs and fertilizer.
-
Barefoot Farm will provide mentorship and support as needed via telephone/email and/or onsite visits.
-
Barefoot Farm LLC and its owners and employees shall not be held liable for any damages, injuries, or deaths caused by the renting of our coop or possession of our laying hens.
-
Chickens require access to clean water and feed at all times. Coops shall be kept in clean and working condition.
-
Barefoot Farm can not guarantee our hens will lay any eggs. There are a number of factors that influence egg production, such as stress. There will likely be an initial adjustment period during which time egg production may be limited. Attempts will be made to provide a positive chicken keeping experience which in our opinion does include hens that actually lay eggs.
-
In the event of illness/death of one of Barefoot Farm’s laying hens due to natural/unpreventable circumstances, the hen will be replaced. If a second illness/death occurs, a more thorough investigation will be conducted. The health and well-being of our laying hens are our top priority and any hint of negligence or abuse will result in the immediate removal of all Barefoot Farm property and termination of the coop rental agreement.
-
Barefoot Farm requires all canine - hen interactions to be supervised at all times. Supervision is the key to preventing what could be a traumatic experience for everyone involved.
-
This contract is non-transferable. Once delivered, all Barefoot Farm property must not be moved from the delivery location for any reason.
-
The renter is responsible for all/any neighborhood, city, and state zoning regulations and ordinances for keeping chickens on their property.
-
Barefoot Farm requires written approval from the property owner where the coop will be delivered. If the coop renter is the property owner, this agreement serves as approval. If the coop renter does not own the property a separate written acknowledgment and approval are required from the landlord/property owner.
-
Upon completion of your rental contract, the coop, equipment, and all non-consumable supplies owned by Barefoot Farm LLC must be returned in good, rentable condition. Barefoot Farm reserves the right to assess a damage fee if repairs are needed because of negligence or abuse.
